As Halloween approached in 2024, Bright Spark Electrical Services has become a prominent name in promoting electrical safety. Recently, the team at Bright Spark was contacted by the Electrical Safety First charity, an organization dedicated to raising awareness of electrical hazards and promoting safe practices across the UK. The reason for this unexpected outreach? A noteworthy article on Bright Spark’s website discussing electrical safety, which had caught the attention of Electrical Safety First's media team.
Electrical Safety First had been preparing a special Halloween-themed press release to highlight electrical safety hazards in a way that would capture public attention. The goal was to warn people about the potential dangers associated with Halloween decorations, lighting, and other spooky festivities that could pose risks if not handled carefully. As they scouted for sources, Bright Spark’s article on electrical safety stood out as both informative and community-focused, aligning perfectly with their campaign objectives.
Karen Smith, the owner of Bright Spark Electrical Services, was thrilled when Electrical Safety First reached out. After discussing the goals of their Halloween campaign, Karen granted permission for the organization to reference Bright Spark’s materials and submit the press release to major television networks and national media outlets. Bright Spark’s insights and expertise on electrical safety became the backbone of the Halloween safety narrative, effectively contributing to a campaign aimed at saving lives and preventing accidents.
With Bright Spark’s permission, Electrical Safety First moved forward with their campaign, and the results were nothing short of impressive. The press release, complete with photographs attributed to Bright Spark, appeared in several high-profile media outlets, including a feature in The Guardian, along with other Social Media Platforms. The story also made its way to ITV News, where it was showcased as a public interest segment leading up to Halloween. This national exposure highlighted Bright Spark Electrical Services as a trusted source of information and an advocate for public safety.
The ITV News segment, aptly titled “Who You Gonna Call? Electrician!” drew inspiration from the famous catchphrase associated with ghost-busting in pop culture, but with a clever twist. Instead of the traditional "Ghostbusters" response, the message emphasized the importance of calling an electrician—specifically, Bright Spark Electrical Services—when dealing with any electrical concerns, particularly during Halloween festivities.
The segment covered a range of potential hazards that often go unnoticed during Halloween celebration add an extra layer of risk to households. ITV News, with the support of Electrical Safety First and Bright Spark, encouraged viewers to inspect decorations for faulty wiring, avoid overloading circuits, and ensure that outdoor lights and decorations were weatherproof and safe for use.
One particularly memorable part of the segment featured photo's from Karen Smith herself, Her passion for safety and her commitment to her community shone through, reinforcing the trust that local residents and businesses have placed in Bright Spark.
For Bright Spark, this national recognition is more than just good publicity. It’s a validation of their ongoing efforts to prioritize safety and educate the public about the often-overlooked risks associated with electricity. Karen and her team have long been committed to community engagement, sharing practical safety tips and promoting awareness through various platforms, including their website and social media channels. The Halloween feature allowed them to reach an even broader audience, potentially preventing accidents by empowering people with knowledge.
The appearance on ITV News and the feature in National newspapers such as The Guardian have brought a surge of visibility to Bright Spark, sparking curiosity and engagement from new audiences. Local residents have expressed their gratitude on social media, with several comments praising the company for their dedication to safety. People have shared stories of near-misses with Halloween decorations and thanked Bright Spark for reminding them of the importance of electrical safety. This positive feedback has been a rewarding experience for Karen and her team, reinforcing their belief in the value of community outreach and education.
The campaign’s impact goes beyond raising awareness; it also demonstrates how collaboration can lead to meaningful change. Electrical Safety First’s decision to involve a local business like Bright Spark highlights the importance of drawing on community expertise. This partnership has set a strong example of how businesses, nonprofits, and media outlets can work together to promote public welfare.
For Karen and the team at Bright Spark Electrical Services, the experience has been a motivating reminder of their mission. …. just to say how pleased I have been with the service we have received from Bright Sparks. I have arranged many quotes for work to the property over the past 3 years and your company has consistently returned my calls and emails in a timely way which is much appreciated. You have provided knowledgeable, friendly advice about the work that needed to be done and offered well priced quotes. The work has been completed quickly to a high standard. I'd definitely recommend you to others. Thank you.
I was very pleased with the quick response and the job was successfully done by a nice Tradesman the cost was competitive And will call this company to carry out any further work.
Very pleased with the Bright Spark team who installed a new Zappi EV charger and replaced our consumer unit. Many thanks for another job well done. Neat & clean. 10/10
I would highly recommend Karen and her team for any electrical jobs you have. From the moment I first emailed my enquiry the service was super quick (I appreciate this depends on their other jobs at the time). We received a quote that was clear with the works to be done and price was reasonable. On the day the electrician (Joe I believe) turned up on time, did a fab job and even tidied up after himself. The old ceiling lights we had were a little tricky to get off and pulled some of the plaster off too, but he filled it in and made it as good as new.Great job from beginning to end. Thank you Bright Spark
I have used Bright Sparks for two jobs and have been delighted with the quality of the work carried out. Karen is very knowledgeable in her subject and her staff are very well trained , courteous and hard working. I would highly recommend the company without hesitation.
