EPC compliant Storage Heaters

What are the Current EPC requirements for Electric Heating Storage Heaters?

A storage heater must have an Energy Performance Certificate which shows that it meets certain energy efficiency standards. If your storage heater does not meet these standards, you may need to replace it to comply with the EPC requirements.

What are the benefits of EPC compliant Storage Heaters?

There are many benefits to using your EPC compliant Heating Storage Heater, including:

- Increased energy efficiency - this means that you will use less energy to heat your home, saving you money on your energy bills, and providing energy-efficient homes.

- Reduced carbon emissions - Heating Storage Heaters are much more environmentally friendly than traditional gas or electric heating systems, helping to reduce your carbon footprint.

- Increased comfort - Heating Storage Heaters provide a more even heat distribution than traditional heating systems, meaning that you will be more comfortable in your home, with energy efficiency improvements.

- Reduced need for maintenance - Heating Storage Heaters require less maintenance than traditional heating systems, meaning that you can spend less time worrying about your heating and more time enjoying it!

So if you're looking for a more efficient, environmentally friendly, and comfortable way to heat your home, an EPC compliant Heating Storage Heater is the perfect solution!

How are EPC requirements Changing?

HHR storage heaters became a popular choice for many households in the UK as they offer an efficient and cost-effective way to heat a home.

The Heating and Hot Water Regulations of 2013 introduced new EPC requirements for domestic heating systems. This means that all new storage heaters must now be classed as A-rated in order to meet the regulations.

HHR storage heaters that do not meet the new EPC requirements may still be installed, but they will need to be accompanied by an EPC certificate that confirms that the installation meets the required standard. Heaters that are not classed as A-rated may also need to be fitted with a timer in order to ensure that they are only used when necessary.

How can Landlords prepare for new EPC requirements?

One of the most recent changes to come into effect as part of the EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) Regulations is that storage heaters must now be included in the energy assessment calculation. This means that landlords need to ensure that any storage heaters they have in their property are compliant with the EPC requirements, or they could face a fine.

There are a few things landlords can do to make sure their storage heaters meet the EPC requirements.

The most important thing is to make sure the heaters have an Energy Efficiency Rating (EER) of A or B. Heaters with a lower rating may not meet the requirements, so landlords should consider replacing them.

Another thing landlords can do is make sure the storage heaters are well-maintained. Heaters that aren't kept clean and in good condition may not work as efficiently as they should, which could impact their EER rating.

Finally, landlords should be aware that they may need to make some changes to their property in order to accommodate compliant storage heaters. For example, they may need to install new wiring or insulation.

The new EPC requirements came into effect on 1st April 2018, so landlords have started preparing now to make sure their property's energy efficiency is compliant. For more information, please contact us.

What are the new EPC regulations for landlords in 2022?

From 1st April 2022, all landlords must ensure that all new lets and renewals of leases for residential property with a floor area of over 50 square metres are compliant with the Energy Performance of Buildings (England and Wales) Regulations 2012. This means meeting the Energy Efficiency Standard for Buildings (EPC) rating of ‘E’ or above.

Landlords who don’t comply could face fines of up to £5,000.

What are the benefits of EPC compliant Heating Heaters?

There are several benefits to installing an EPC compliant Heating Heater, including:

- Reduced energy bills: An EPC ‘E’ rated Heating Heater is around 10% more efficient than a Heating Heater meeting the old Building Regulations. This can lead to significant savings on your energy bills.

- Reduced carbon emissions: Meeting the EPC rating of ‘E’ will help to reduce your property’s carbon emissions by up to 40%.- Improved comfort: An EPC compliant Heating Heater will help to keep your property at a more comfortable temperature, leading to a better quality of life for residents.

If you’re looking to install an EPC compliant Heating Heater on your property, we recommend contacting a qualified Electrician. They will be able to advise you on the best Heating Heater for your needs and carry out the installation.

We would be happy to discuss your requirements, and we can also provide you with a free quotation.

The Heating Heaters and the Energy Performance of Buildings (EPC) Regulations, which came into effect on 1st October 2018, state that Heating Heaters installed in residential properties must meet an EPC rating of ‘E’ or above. This means that Heating Heaters installed in new lets and renewals of leases from 1st April 2022 onwards must meet this requirement.

The Heating Heaters and EPC Regulations are in place to help improve the energy efficiency of buildings in England and Wales, with the ultimate goal of reducing carbon emissions. Heating Heaters that meet the EPC rating of ‘E’ or above are around 10% more efficient than those that meet the old Building Regulations. This can lead to significant savings on your energy bills.

What is an EPC?

An EPC is an energy performance certificate - it shows how energy efficient a building is. Heating accounts for the majority of energy use in most buildings, so making sure your heating system is as efficient as possible is crucial in reducing your energy bills and carbon footprint.

HHR storage heaters are a great way to make your home more energy-efficient, as they use saved energy to heat your home rather than drawing power from the grid. HHR storage heaters are compliant with EPC regulations, so you can be sure that you're making the most of your energy efficiency.

EPC Compliant HHR Storage Heaters - Tenanted Properties

There has been a recent increase in the number of tenanted properties that are being fitted with EPC compliant HHR storage heaters. This is mainly because these heaters are now much more efficient than the traditional storage heaters, and as such, they can save landlords money on their energy bills.

The main benefit of using an EPC compliant HHR storage heater is that it will help to improve the energy efficiency of your property. This is because these heaters are designed to store heat energy, which can then be used to warm the property at a later time. As such, they can help you to save money on your energy bills, and they can also help to reduce your carbon footprint.

Another benefit of using an EPC compliant HHR storage heater is that they are much more reliable than traditional storage heaters. This is because they have been designed to be more durable, and as such, they are less likely to break down. Furthermore, they also require very little maintenance, which means that you will not have to spend time and money on repairing them.

If you are thinking of installing an EPC compliant HHR storage heater on your property, then please get in touch with us today.

We would be happy to discuss your requirements and we can also provide you with a free quotation.

Helping Landlords to attain a Higher EPC rating

HHR Storage Heaters are a great way to help landlords achieve a higher energy performance certificate EPC rating, providing them with a valid EPC. The Heaters store heat from the sun or your heating system, in the case of solar energy, and release it slowly overnight. This means that you can use less energy for heating, and save money on your energy bills.

HHR Storage Heaters are also very efficient and meet all the requirements of the Energy Performance of Buildings Regulations (EPBR). They are fully compliant with the EPBR and can help landlords to achieve an ‘A’ energy rating on their EPC.

If you are a landlord looking to improve your EPC rating, then HHR Storage Heaters are a great option. They are easy to install and can help you to save money on your energy bills. Contact us today for more information.

How can landlords prepare for the new 2025 EPC regulations?

One of the ways landlords can get ready for the new EPC regulations in 2025 is to switch to EPC compliant HHR storage heaters.

HHR storage heaters are a great choice for landlords because they’re more efficient than traditional heating methods and they comply with the new EPC regulations.

For landlords who are looking for an efficient and cost-effective way to heat their properties, EPC compliant HHR storage heaters are the perfect solution.

Our timer on our central heating went and my husband was miles away at work,it was early evening when I phoned karen, but straight away she told me not to worry,to send a photo of the timer and she'd sort it out,and she did, an electrician came out with a new timer fitted it and was gone, brilliant service from start to finish, will definitely use them again and would highly recommend them

Di, Paddock Wood

I had a number of light fittings that weren't working and, on a recommendation from a friend, called Bright Spark. Karen called in to evaluate and price the work the same day and sent one of her colleagues, to carry it out before the end of the week. It was a very impressive response and the work was done to an excellent standard. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Bright Spark, and it's reassuring to know such a reliable firm exists the next time I need an electrician.

Philip, Seal

I live in a very old house with many different electrical systems. As a condition of my household insurance I had to have the house electrics upgrade to a modern standard. I engaged Bright Spark for the complex project. My experience of their service was that they are a highly professional company who completed the work on time and on budget. However, and just as importantly, the work was carried out with consideration and care, sadly a rare occurrence in today's society. I have no hesitation in recommending Bright Spark to my friends.

CL, Sevenoaks

I’d like to say a huge thank you Karen, to you & your team for providing the excellent service you do. Always there when we have an issue or just routine work needs to be carried out. It’s so reassuring that we can rely on you at any time, even for advice. Always professional, knowledgeable & particularly personable Superb…

Kerry, Tunbridge Wells

I had an emergency situation arising from a constantly tripping appliance. A call to Bright Sparks, who have helped me before, led me to their website’s ‘Knowledge Centre’ and although I’ve used similar help sites before this was excellent – clear, well laid out, and logically organised – and as someone with zero electrical knowledge I managed to find the fault myself! I followed up the situation on the phone and got more advice. Really impressed by the Bright Sparks service and will continue to use them and their Knowledge Centre again in the future.
