What are Electric Heaters?

What are electric heaters?

Any electrical device designed for use in space heating & home heating is an electric heater. Modern electric room heaters are designed for optimal efficiency. Included are features such as a 24 hours programming mode with energy scavenging capabilities. Some models feature wireless control to ensure you can turn on / off your heating whenever you want.

The term electric heating has been more related to the use of convection products like the fan and cabinet heater. It includes everything from radiators to storage heaters to infrared plates and patios. Some models can also be equipped automatically with Wi-Fi thermostatic heating controls.

With the current trend, customers are building a home office, either in a spare room, a Garden Room, or Bed room. Customers are turning to Bright Spark Electricians to find a solution and provide efficient heating, in the form of electricity, to heat the entire room, and provide heat quickly, where they can buy electric heaters, whether this is an oil-filled radiator, radiant heat, to get the best electric heater, to produce heat to the new workspace they have created, so not having to go to the additional expense in extending their central heating system, from the gas central heating they have in place.

Electric radiators are coming back, with the electric radiators models offering exceptional value for money. Using an electric radiator not only provides cost-effective heating but also ensures heat is on-demand and can be adjusted to individual requirements.

Types of electric heaters

There are many types of electric heating solutions out there; radiators, wall heaters, radiators and fans, electric underfloor heating mats, etc. Each type has different advantages and disadvantages depending upon where they're used in the home.

The radiators are the most traditional, and common type of electrical heating solution. In radiators typically consists of a large metal box containing cut-out holes where hot water is pumped through to heat the radiators. radiators come in many different shapes and sizes for example normal radiators, slim radiators which fit into smaller areas as they are much thinner radiators, and slim radiators. Radiators have several advantages such as being cheap to install, cheap to run, and very reliable. One disadvantage could be that radiators don't usually heat a room up quickly, but once the desired temperature is reached they will maintain a constant temperature in a room until the radiating elements are switched off. radiators are usually very easy to install, but radiators are limited in their use as radiators are only designed for heating rooms.

The electric heaters radiate heat through infrared thermal radiation Electric wall heaters are a relatively new invention, which works by radiating heat through infrared thermal radiation The longer the wavelengths of incoming radiating heat the more likely they are to be absorbed by dark objects. An electric radiator is usually glass with no radiating elements behind it giving this type of radiator a sleek modern look. This radiator is cheap and easy to install radiators, but like standard radiators radiating heat can take some time to warm up a room.

Where to install radiators

Radiators can be installed in hallways or other larger rooms where the ambient temperature is lower than that of smaller rooms. They can also be used to heat your bathroom or kitchen - radiators make great towels and bath radiators and sink radiators.

If you only want to purchase one radiator, we would recommend installing it in a hallway where there is more room to allow for air circulation around it. It's also a great idea to install radiators in an area where the heat will be most effective, such as near a door.

If you are looking to cover more ground in your home, radiators can be installed together in pairs in larger rooms. It's important to take the temperature of each room into account when installing radiators in pairs or groups. The size and number of radiators must be suited to the amount of heat loss occurring in that space.

Heating radiators are an efficient solution for heating your home.

Electric wall heaters

Electric wall heaters are fantastic heating solutions when you don't want to install radiators in your home - they can be easily installed into any room with a flat surface. If you live in a terraced house, or an older property, radiators are not always possible due to the layout of the rooms. Electric wall heaters are ideal for this scenario - stoves can be fitted into any room with electric wiring, and give off radiating heat that helps keep the whole house warm!

Electronic radiators

Electronic radiators are heating radiators that have an electronic panel fitted into the front of the radiator. This panel has a digital display, that shows you how much it is currently heating up - this helps keep costs down as you can set an energy-efficient heat setting and not worry about smashing your heat levels to high! Most electric radiators are either quadratic radiators, convector radiators or fan convector radiators.

- Quadratec radiators work by having four heating elements fitted into the radiator which makes them more compact and efficient than standard radiators - these can be used in homes without needing any extra bits of central heating installed.- Convector radiators are convector radiators that have a curved front - this gives the radiators more surface area for heating which makes them much more efficient. Most radiators will have their element placed behind the front panel so it doesn't heat up too quickly, but convectors have them placed in the sides of the radiator so they heat up much faster.- Fan convector radiators are radiators that have one heating element plus a small fan inside them - this makes them very efficient for radiating heat into the room, but the fan makes these radiators more expensive than most other radiators.

Another type of electric radiator is electric panel heaters, these work in a similar way to radiators but instead of radiating heat into the room, they radiate heat directly into the air and then this heated air gets circulated around the room by a small fan - these electric radiators tend to be more expensive than radiators as you need something like a dehumidifier on them in order to get rid of moisture from the air from radiators having to heat from room temperature to radiator temperature when turned on, but these electric radiators work in a pretty much the same way and provide lots of heat.- Electrical wall heaters can be electric radiators or electric panel heaters - they come in lots of different options and all offer you extra warmth.

- Advantages:

Electric radiators are efficient, easy to set up and provide very fast heat.

- Disadvantages:

Electric radiators can be expensive both to buy and run.

Why should electric radiators be used in the Home?

Electric radiators are not only the most popular form of electric heating, but it is also one that is very versatile. Electric radiators heat up quickly to an optimum radiating temperature, making them perfect for creating a cosy atmosphere in your living room or kitchen. These convenient radiators can help cut down on home-heating costs since radiators work even when a room's window is open due to radiators emitting warmth into the air. Electric radiators can be set onto a timer, so you can have your heating turned on - or off - at certain times of the day. Whether it's used as a primary heating source for your home, or simply to provide additional heat in a specific area, radiators are one of the most affordable and convenient heating solutions on the market.

How do electric radiators work?

Electric radiators rely on convection currents to distribute warmth evenly around a room. Electrical radiators don't emit any noxious fumes and they're eco-friendly too. They don't require much maintenance, and they're easy to install.

How much do electric radiators cost?

Electric radiators are relatively cheap to run, and they're easy to install. Choosing an electric radiator is a matter of matching your budget with your heating needs; there's no real technical know-how required. When you're looking for radiators, here's a quick guide to the pricing:

The cost of radiators varies between £18 and £607.

Do electric radiators have an off switch?

Although radiators should be switched off at the wall radiators, fans and electric fires require a temperature switch to turn them on or off. Electric radiators should have a minimum safety switch to ensure they are switched off should the radiator become loose from its fixings.

What do I need to know about electric radiators?

Electric radiators are the most commonly used form of electric heater in homes, offices, and other buildings. The radiators can be flat or panel radiators, each with its own strengths. The radiators are intended to heat an area, not individual items. So how do you know which radiators are the right solution for your needs?

This is a list of factors that will determine if radiators are the best heating system for you:

- You have at least one electric plug installed in the room. - Electric radiators need at least one electric plug installed within two metres of radiators to be powered. This is because the radiators are plugged into the mains electricity, so they receive power directly from the source.

- You have a window in the room that can be opened or needs constant ventilation - Electric radiators are not enclosed which means while you will get heat radiating from the radiators, they will also create a lot of condensation. This is why you should never install electric radiators in rooms that have no open windows or doors for ventilation.

- You want to steer away from central heating - Electric radiators are a convenient option because you do not need to go through a third-party supplier and can easily switch radiators on or off as needed.

- You want to control the heating costs - Electric radiators are very cheap to run because they use up only a small amount of electricity to power them, so you will see a reduction in your energy bills by installing radiators.

- You want to free up floor space - By their nature radiators take up little space, so if you have a room with limited floor space radiators might be a good heating solution.

- You want to heat individual items in the room - Electric radiators heat an entire room not one thing in it. This means that radiators waste energy heating areas that may not need it and therefore are poor heating options for individual items such as a desk or bed.

- You want to save energy - Electric radiators are very good at conserving energy just like electric heaters, so you can expect to see savings in your heating bill without sacrificing warmth.

What do I need to know about electric underfloor heating?

Electric underfloor heating is a cost-effective way of heating your home, but you need to know how it works. The floor is typically made up of radiators that are mounted on the wall, so do not use any electrical wiring to get power. Instead, they operate by absorbing electrical energy through a series of wires in the radiator base and then radiating this energy into your room. This is just like how electric radiators work, except that they are mounted in the floor.

What are electric radiators made from?

Electric radiators are made from steel, which has been galvanized to ensure that the radiators are rust-resistant.

Setting the standard in electric heating

Electrical Radiators, and convection heating, are usually are either installed by a qualified electrician or simply plugged directly into the unit with the 13A British plug included with the product. This type of heater offers the ideal solution for replacing old storage heaters for properties without access to mains gas and for homes that require supplementary heaters providing a heating solution, providing warm air to the surrounding air. A perfect retrofit to homes without access to the main gas supply.
